3 held over 'bodies in car boot' case

IPOH: Police are investigating whether the case of bodies of two men stuffed in a car boot at the Alor Pongsu rest and recreation area of the North-South Expressway was due to a kidnap attempt gone awry.

Perak Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said Perak and Penang police were investigating the matter, adding that Penang police had picked up three men, aged between 20 and 30, yesterday, to assist in investigations.

"One of the victims had his head covered in plastic while another victim was strangled," he said.
The victims were identified as Ting Liong Chin, 28, of Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, and Seu Hong Chee, 19, from Kepong, Kuala Lumpur.

While Ting's body was identified by his wife, Seu's body was identified by his siblings at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun's mortuary at 11.30am yesterday.

"We are still investigating whether the car was a stolen vehicle," he said, adding that nothing suspicious was found in the car.New Straits Times
