Missing 15-year old girl may have been murdered

PETALING JAYA: A 15-year-old girl reported missing on Monday, after she was allegedly dropped off at the Kelana Jaya LRT station by a friend she had met online, is believed to have been murdered.

Selangor Community Policing chief Kuan Chee Heng said the victim, who had just finished her PMR examinations, was struck on the head with a dumbbell in an attempted rape at home of the 23-year-old suspect in Taman Cempaka, here, yesterday.
"The suspect attacked her when she refused to ‘cooperate’ with him.  While fighting him, she bit and scratched him, leading the suspect to hit her with the dumbbell,” he told reporters when met at the police station.

Kuan said the suspect then disposed her body at a drain near Jalan Kebun.

He said the revelation came to light when he met the victim’s mother and Ng’s friends about her disappearance.

The suspect was among the friends. It is understood that she had befriended the man via Facebook.

“I noticed that he (the suspect) had some peculiar injuries on his hand. And as he was the last person who had sent her off to the LRT station, I decided to question him further.

“He then confessed to the incident,” he said.

Kuan brought the suspect to the Petaling Jaya district police, where he was questioned for several hours.

He later led a police forensic team to the scene where he allegedly dumped the remains.

At Press time, police are still believed to be at the scene.

No comments have been forthcoming from the authorities at the moment.
