Muhyiddin Urges Overseas Umno Club To Be More Active

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today told the overseas Umno clubs to be more active in carrying out programmes to attract more Malays and the Bumiputera abroad, including the younger generation, to join Umno.

This desire was expressed by Muhyiddin, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, during his meeting with representatives of the Overseas Umno Clubs in conjunction with the Umno General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), here today.

The deputy chairman of the Warwick and Coventry Umno Club, Muhammad Hakimi Jaafar, who acted as spokesman for the overseas Umno clubs, felt that this objective could be achieved through educational discussion programmes.

"For example, the younger generation today is seen to be more keen on educational discussions, thus more such discussions are needed to discuss the pros and cons of a particular issue," he told reporters after the meeting. BERNAMA
