AirAsia To Give Clarification To PAC On April 28 - Nur Jazlan

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia will give clarification to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on April 28 with regard to the issue on KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2), according to PAC Chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

He said the clarification from AirAsia was necessary to seek information from the company so that the report prepared by the PAC would be more fair.

"When Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) gave clarification to PAC on April 1, the name of AirAsia was frequently mentioned," he said at a media conference after the meeting to table the First Series of the Auditor-General's Report 2013 at Parliament House, here on Monday.

Last week, after the PAC heard the clarification from the MAHB that said there was no element of leakage that had pushed up the cost and delayed the construction of the KLIA.

A report previously stated that AirAsia had refused to move to KLIA2 from the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT), following fears on the level of security and flying operations at KLIA2.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak when asked to comment on the matter on Saturday had said that AirAsia must move to KLIA2 as scheduled, that is on May 9. Astro Awani
