Melaka Police Dispose Off Drugs Worth Over RM82,000

MELAKA: Melaka Police disposed off various types of drugs worth RM82,320 involving 390 drug possession cases for Melaka Tengah district from 2009 to 2012.

State Narcotics CID chief Supt Md Azmi Othman said the drugs were heroin (240.1 gm), ganja (1,394.8 gm); syabu (216.3 gm); ketamine (173.6 gm); various types of pills (51.3 gm) and codeine cough mixture (113 mm).

"All the case exhibits were disposed off on the court's order and involved cases which had been settled," he told reporters after the disposal of the drugs at Melaka state police headquarters, here today.

Md Azmi said the disposal was also intended to reduce congestion of exhibits in the stores of police district headquarters. All the exhibits were disposed off via burning using an incinerator. – Bernama
