TABUNG HAJI BUILD OWN COMPLEX IN MECCA

BALING. Tabung Haji is identifying a plot of land in Mecca to build its own TH Complex to better serve Malaysian pilgrims in the Holy Land.

Lembaga Tabung Haji chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said he had recently visited Mecca to identify a suitable location to build the first Tabung Haji Complex there.

Abdul Azeez who is also Baling member of Parliament said he was confident that the plan would materialise based on the good relationship between Malaysian and Saudi Arabia.

"We hope by having the complex, it will enable us to better serve Malaysian pilgrims especially during the Haj season," he said after handing over Tabung Haji tithe to underprivileged people at Dewan Tun Razak yesterday.

A total of RM200,000 tithes were distribute to the 400 underprivileged people during the ceremony.

On a separate note, Tabung Haji had allocated a total of RM1.7 million for tithes distribution to more than 3,400 underprivileged people in the country.

Abdul Azeez said the tithes would be distributed in stages to all states. NST
