Yesterday PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said his party leaders and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in particular, have not offered any agreement, verbal or otherwise, to the nomination of any other candidate for the coveted Selangor position.
"No. There was no agreement, to Anwar did not agree to Azmin being MB" and PKR has remained adamant that Dr Wan Azizah is the best choice for the MB post, and PKR vice-president Tian Chua said Azmin Ali not to have the support of his party.
Last night,
PKR has endorsed Azmin Ali's appointment as Selangor menteri besar, bringing an end to the eight-month-old issue to replace Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
This was confirmed by Azmin after a meeting with top PKR leaders at the party headquarters in Petaling Jaya this evening.
"The party unanimously agreed to my appointment as the new Selangor menteri besar," said Azmin.
Azmin is expected to be sworn in as the 15th Selangor menteri besar at 10am tomorrow in Istana Alam Shah, Klang.
