LTDL 2015 IS BACK.

The new tagline “Moving Forward” for the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2015 revealed today is sure to get everyone excited and back in the saddle in anticipation of Malaysia's biggest and most prestigious cycling race.

The new logo and tagline for LTdL 2015 was jointly unveiled by Yang Berhormat Khairy Jamaluddin, the Minister of Youth and Sports and Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Honorary Patron of LTdL 2015 at a launch ceremony held at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya.

The logo was designed to resemble the art of free strokes that represents the dynamism and passion of the event. Other elements that are included in the logo are the Malaysian flag and the country’s hot sunny weather which is a challenge to the cyclists.

The UCI 2.HC (hors category) race is one of the most prestigious races on the UCI Asia Tour calendar and the 20th edition of the annual LTdL race promises a new-look and feel in line with the dynamism of the event's new organisers, Human Voyage Sdn. Bhd.

The "Moving Forward" tagline for LTdL 2015 reflects Human Voyage eagerness to bring the sports of cycling in general, and the popularity of LTdL in particular, forward to an entirely new level altogether.

“The tagline represents our goal to bring LTdL and Malaysia into a global playing arena that has been long overdue”, said Human Voyage CEO Datuk Malik Mydin.

While thanking the Youth and Sports Ministry for their support and faith in Human Voyage to put up a good show for LTdL 2015, Datuk Malik also acknowledges the good work done by the previous organisers throughout the years to put LTdL on a high level and standard in the world cycling calendar.

The icing on the cake for the organizers is when Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad agreed to reprise his role as the honorary patron for LTdL 2015. The respected former Malaysian prime minister was one of the main initiators who played an instrumental role in the creation of the first LTdL back in 1996.

"As the new organisers of the LTdL 2015, Human Voyage would want to set the bar higher, not just in providing an ideal environment for excellent and quality competition, but also in raising the brand recognition of LTdL as an elite cycling extravaganza globally.

“To us, LTdL 2015 is also about making the race experience more engaging and more interactive between the teams and the riders and the fans and ensuring that everyone walks away with an amazing experience”, added Datuk Malik.

Besides providing high quality, top notch cycling action, LTdL 2015 will also showcase and promote the beauty and variety of scenic locations in Malaysia. This augurs well with Human Voyage’s initiative in negotiating to bring the race LIVE to households across Asia and Europe, countries that fit into Tourism Malaysia’s key growth market for tourist arrivals.

Human Voyage is also committed to maintaining and improving the technical aspects of the competition to ensure that the race retains its 'hors classe' status. Riders and fans alike may have a new feel to the entire competition, but they can be rest assured that the standards of the competition will not be compromised.

Human Voyage is already in negotiation with several top cycling teams in the world, including 10 World Tour, 12 Pro-Continental and another 10 Asia Continental Teams to compete in the LTdL 2015. Human Voyage’s aim is to attract about 21 of the most exciting teams and riders in the world to race in LTdL 2015.

Commenting on the new routes, Datuk Malik said that the routes of LTdL 2015 are expected to be finalized by early December 2014 and Human Voyage is not looking at making any radical changes in the race routes for LTdL 2015.

“The LTdL has been around for 19 years and has always had a high level of professional execution. In terms of routes, we will retain some old favourites, such as Grik - Tanah Merah and the steep Hors category climb in Genting”, he added.

LTdL 2015 will be staged from 8 – 15th March .

With the LTdL's new organisers Human Voyage promising a rollicking time with the tagline "Moving Forward", more surprises would be in store for the cycling fans in LTdL 2015.
