NAZRI AHMAD IS PAS CANDIDATE FOR ROMPIN BY-ELECTION

Pahang PAS Youth chief Nazri Ahmad was today announced as the PAS candidate for the Rompin Parliamentary by-election scheduled on May 5.

PAS vice president Salahuddin Ayub made the announcement at a 'ceramah' that was held at Bandar Satelit Muadzam Shah here tonight to declare the candidate.

Nazri, 40, from Felda Keratong 5, here, holds a degree in Syariah Islamiah from the Al-Azhar University in Egypt.

The former Al-Quran teacher at the MRSM In Muadzam Shah, is also the Yang Dipertua PAS for Rompin.

The Rompin parliamentary by-election is being held following the death of incumbent Tan Sri Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis in a helicopter crash in Semenyih on April 4.

Yesterday, BN named acting Rompin UMNO chief Datuk Hasan Arifin, 62, as its candidate.

In the 2013 general election, Jamaluddin won the seat for a sixth term by beating Nuridah Mohd Salleh from the PAS by a 15,114 vote majority.
