Air Quality In Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Port Klang Improves

KUALA LUMPUR. The air quality in Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor and Port Klang has improved with the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings registering moderate level as of 5pm.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) website, the API reading in Port Klang was at 95, Kuala Selangor (87) and Shah Alam (96).

Four areas that recorded unhealthy API readings were Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (114), Banting, Selangor (114), Petaling Jaya (101), and Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (104).

Nineteen areas recorded good API readings and 27 moderate API readings.

Good API readings were recorded, among others, in Langkawi, Kedah (47), Jerantut, Pahang (45), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (42), Miri, Sarawak (28), and Paka, Terengganu (33).

The areas that recorded moderate API readings, among others, were Seri Manjung, Perak (63), Kangar, Perlis (59), Putrajaya (80), and Bukit Rambai, Melaka (85).

API readings of between 0 and 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (dangerous).
